Suitcase Marketing & Unauthorized Research Policy

Suitcasing refers to the practice of non-exhibiting and/or non-sponsoring companies or individuals soliciting business in the public spaces of the conference, including within another company’s exhibit space. This includes, but is not limited to, the promotion of imaging informatics or enterprise imaging products and services, conducting market research, surveys, or interviews intended to support commercial activities, or organizing business meetings and demonstrations in connection with the Annual Meeting without participating as an official exhibitor or sponsor.

This policy also applies to the promotion of onsite business development activities through digital channels. Non-exhibiting companies and individuals may not use LinkedIn, social media, email campaigns, or similar platforms to advertise their presence at the Annual Meeting, solicit attendees for meetings or product demonstrations, or otherwise market commercial activities taking place in connection with the conference unless they are participating as an official exhibitor or sponsor.

While SIIM welcomes all registered attendees to participate fully in the Annual Meeting, we respectfully ask that organizations conducting business development, sales, promotional, or market research activities do so as official exhibitors or sponsors. This helps ensure a fair and consistent experience for all participants, maintains a high-integrity environment focused on education and unpressured networking for attendees, and honors the investment made by companies that have committed to exhibiting in the Expo Hall.

Attendees who are observed engaging in sales solicitation, structured market research, survey-based outreach, unauthorized promotional activities, or organized business meetings in aisles, session rooms, networking areas, hotel meeting spaces, or within another company’s booth may be asked to cease such activities immediately.
