Steven Blumer, MD, MBA, CPE, FAAP

Steven Blumer is the Americas Director of Radiology Digital Medical Affairs Director at Bayer. In this capacity, he leads strategy development and execution as well as provides medical expertise to support the Digital Solutions Business (DSB). The portfolio of the DSB focuses on digital solutions that leverage artificial intelligence and data analytics to improve radiologist workflow, efficiency, and quality of care. With over 15 years of experience as a board-certified radiologist, pediatric radiologist and clinical informatician, Steven has a passion for applying cutting-edge technology and data-driven solutions to improve patient outcomes and quality of care. In addition to his industry role, Steven also practices as a Pediatric Radiologist at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and teaches as a Visiting Clinical Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He has a strong background in clinical and imaging informatics, digital health, healthcare IT and AI, medical affairs, clinical development, healthcare administration, medical education, and clinical pediatric radiology and teleradiology. Steven has published multiple scientific papers and books, received several honors and awards, and consulted for various AI and radiology IT start-ups.
