About the Session

As radiology departments adopt AI tools to reduce dictation burden and improve reporting speed, a fragmented tech stack remains a major barrier to progress.

In this session, Shiva Suri, Founder and CEO of New Lantern, will demonstrate how a unified radiology tech stack—where the viewer and AI reporting tools are tightly integrated—enables the generation of high-quality AI first drafts of radiology reports. He’ll explore how Optical Character Recognition (OCR) can automatically extract key data from technologist worksheets, and how measurements from the viewer can flow directly into the report. Rather than layering AI onto legacy infrastructure, this talk advocates for a system-wide architectural shift that unlocks the full potential of automation in radiology.

Objectives

  • Describe what OCR is and how it reduces cognitive load and accelerates turnaround times in radiology.
  • Examine how fragmented systems limit the effectiveness of AI in radiology workflows.
  • Discuss how a unified tech stack enables seamless, end-to-end automation from image analysis to report generation.
