About the Session
Every imaging informaticist’s career begins somewhere—and eventually transitions into something new. Whether participants are just entering the field, building mid-career momentum, or reflecting on decades of impact, navigating growth in imaging informatics requires more than online advice. Attendees need real-world perspective, honest lessons learned, and a community that understands the unique challenges of evolving roles, emerging technologies, and expanding enterprise responsibilities.
In this interactive session, participants will gain clarity on the distinct phases of professional development, hear candid insights shaped by lived workplace experience, and conduct meaningful self-assessment of their own goals and next steps. The session is intentionally designed for live networking and candid dialogue—creating space for participants to ask questions they may not otherwise have the opportunity to explore and to build authentic connections with peers walking similar paths.
To further deepen the experience attendees will be introduced to the SIIM Journey Maps—structured resources designed to help imaging informatics professionals grow, connect, and thrive. Participants will define journey mapping in the context of career development, identify relevant SIIM resources aligned with their goals, and select potential mentors and collaborators within the community. Attendees will leave not only with perspective, but with actionable direction—clearer about where they are, where they want to go, and who can help them get there.
