About the Session

The Case of the Day Wrap-Up session offers a dynamic, community-driven learning experience that highlights real-world challenges and solutions in imaging informatics. Building on the cases displayed in the Exhibit Hall throughout the conference, this session brings together selected contributors to share concise, practice-based cases that reflect the realities of today’s imaging environments along with a discussion moderated by a SIIM Fellow.

Attendees will hear firsthand accounts of problems encountered, decisions made, and solutions implemented across a range of topics—including workflow optimization, artificial intelligence implementation, quality and safety, governance, and cybersecurity. Each case is designed to distill a clear teaching point, providing practical insights into what worked, what didn’t, and why.

The session emphasizes interactive learning and peer-to-peer exchange, culminating in audience discussion that encourages reflection, shared problem-solving, and broader application of lessons learned. By showcasing diverse perspectives—from early-career professionals, this session fosters an inclusive environment where emerging voices contribute meaningfully to advancing the field of imaging informatics.

Special thanks to the SMIT Core Committee Project Team—particularly team leader Vera Sorin—for their dedication and hard work in planning this session. The team would like to extend their appreciation to SIIM Fellow Dr. Barton Branstetter for his thoughtful and thorough review of case submissions to ensure quality and consistency.

Objectives
