Asim Waqas, PhD, is a Research Scientist in the Departments of Cancer Epidemiology and Machine Learning at Moffitt Cancer Center. He develops multimodal AI and large language model approaches for oncology, with a focus on cancer risk prediction, survival modeling, digital pathology, and clinical data extraction. His work integrates multi-omics, imaging, pathology, and electronic health record data to advance precision oncology. Previously, he serves as an Applied Postdoctoral Fellow and Graduate Research Fellow at Moffitt/ University of South Florida and holds engineering and IT roles in multiple institutions.
