Dr. Christopher Austin, is a UK-trained radiologist and thought leader in imaging AI, based in Seattle. He has been at the forefront of clinical AI since 2016, with nearly a decade of experience spanning development, clinical validation, regulatory strategy, and commercialization of AI-enabled imaging technologies. Dr. Austin has held senior leadership roles at GE Healthcare, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Kheiron Medical, and RadNet/DeepHealth, focused on translating AI innovation into real-world clinical and operational impact. His work centers on bridging novel AI technologies with frontline radiology practice, ensuring performance, safety, and measurable ROI. At Lunit, he is currently focused on advancing next-generation AI through custom vision-language models – locally optimized AI via fine-tuning of foundation models.
In addition, Dr. Austin advises startups and health systems on responsible AI deployment and has contributed to national policy discussions as an advisor to the Scottish Government on AI in healthcare.
