Event Speaker
Teri Sippel Schmidt, MS, FSIIM
Adjunct Professor
Johns Hopkins University
As an Adjunct Professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Marquette University BioMed Engineering, Teri is interested in all things informatics, especially DICOM and FHIR, but her favorite event is the SIIM Hackathon! After a role in developing the DICOM standard and implementations at GE Med, Teri was involved in two “start-ups”, Mitra Imaging and Karos Health, which truly changed the direction of PACS and interoperability. Teri lives and breathes standards as the original co-chair of IHE Radiology and involvment in the OHDSI Observational Research (OMOP) Medical Imaging Common Data Model (MI-CDM).

Presented by Blake Dewey, PhD, MSE , Paul Nagy, PhD, CIIP, FSIIM , Wooyeon (Jen) Park, MS, Teri Sippel Schmidt, MS, FSIIM in Cardiology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Pathology, Radiology Jun 11, 2026 | 7:30 AM.
Medical imaging and clinical care generate complementary but often siloed data. Imaging systems produce rich DICOM metadata, while EHRs capture diagnoses, labs, procedures, and outcomes that provide essential clinical context. For attendees involved in imaging research, analytics, or AI development, bridging these data sources is critical to enabling scalable, reproducible multimodal research across institutions. This…
