Sumedh Sonawane is a PhD student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Informatics at the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering, Indiana University Indianapolis. His research focuses on medical imaging, artificial intelligence, and translational oncology. He currently works on prostate cancer, developing deep learning and multimodal imaging frameworks for disease localization, prognostic modeling, and treatment response prediction. His goal is to translate advanced computational methods into clinically actionable tools that support precision medicine. Beyond prostate cancer, he is interested in extending AI-driven imaging approaches to other oncologic domains to improve risk stratification and personalized treatment planning
